Dakar-based Ousmane Mbaye designs furniture and objects. His preferred material is galvanized iron, but the self-taught designer has also used other recycled materials, embracing in his own words, the Bauhaus philosophy of “learning by doing”. Having launched his eponymous brand a little over a decade ago, his pieces blur the line between utility and decorative design.
