Kilubukila is an injunction in Kikongo which means “be wise”, this invitation is the spirit of their brand. They are a cultural project working on a collaboration and cultural network model to bring value to crafts, traditions and modernity. They aim to build economic resilience to their partners and beneficiaries in the DR Congo via training and to bridge regional and international markets of design. Their creative approach to upcycling mixes Western classics with African prints. In their Kinshasa based atelier their female artisans use the pan-African Mandombe script on traditional Kuba textiles.
